Upload and select assets

Use the site asset browser and image fields with configured storage.

The Assets view lists files in the storage configuration associated with the site. It appears when the project has a matching site bucket. Image fields can also use the file picker or an existing public URL.

Upload and use an image

  1. Open Assets in the site project, or open an image field in a section.
  2. Upload a file with the upload control or drag it into the browser or image field.
  3. Wait for the upload to complete. In the browser, search for the uploaded file and copy its URL; in the image field, select it from the picker.
  4. Check the image in the page preview and publish the content change.

The image field accepts PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, SVG, and AVIF. Dropping several images directly into one image field uses the first accepted image; use the asset browser to upload several files.

Storage and publication are separate

An upload writes to the configured bucket. Publishing the page saves the reference to that asset in the site's content. Deleting an asset acts on storage directly and can break references in already published pages; publishing a new page version does not restore a deleted object.

If Assets is missing

Check that the project has a site slug and that your organization has the matching file storage configuration. Repository import alone does not guarantee that existing managed assets are associated with the project. A developer or administrator can configure storage; see Studio buckets.

If an image field has no unambiguous upload destination, the picker asks you to choose a configured bucket.
