Website templates
Start with a working website implementation, then adapt its sections, content, and commerce integration.
A template gives you a website repository to start from: routes, UI components, sections, content, and integration code. Copy or fork it, then adapt the implementation to your design and business.
Templates belong to the Storefront offering alongside the framework and the editing app. Each has a different role:
| Part | What it provides | Documentation |
|---|---|---|
| Blocks framework | Typed configuration, content resolution, and the runtime contract your website implements | Blocks |
| Site Editor app | The Studio interface for editing, previewing, and publishing a connected site's content | Site Editor |
| Website template | A starting implementation of the website itself | Storefront TanStack |
A template uses the framework; its website can connect to the Site Editor. You can also add Blocks to a website you already own without starting from a template.

Storefront TanStack
Storefront TanStack is a commerce starter built with TanStack Start, React, and Cloudflare Workers. It includes CMS sections, storefront components, and a Shopify integration. The public source is deco-sites/storefront-tanstack.
Choose it when you want to begin with an existing storefront implementation and customize the code. Its guide covers the repository layout, local setup, and the site settings you need to make your own.
Pick the path that fits your project
- Start a storefront from an implementation: use Storefront TanStack.
- Add Blocks to your own application: follow the current framework quickstart.
- Connect an existing compatible site for editing: follow Connect a site.
- Explore the proposed next framework design: read How it works. The preview has its own API and is separate from the template's current 7.x runtime.
Templates follow their own dependency versions. Check a starter's package.json and setup guide before applying framework examples from another version.
