Connect a site
Configure the repository, content editing, and preview server for a Studio site project.
A site project needs a repository containing its code and content, plus a running site that serves compatible CMS metadata and preview endpoints. Start with an existing Blocks storefront or complete the setup guide for the framework version you are using.
Import the repository
- Open your organization in Studio.
- Choose Import repository and select the GitHub repository for your site. Give the Studio GitHub connection access to that repository if it is missing from the picker.
- Open the imported project and its settings.
- Under CMS, enable Content editing. Under Preview, set the Preview server to the running site's URL.
- Enable Fast Preview for content editing through that server, then start a new chat. Existing chats keep the mode they were created with.
The Import from deco.cx migration flow is restricted to deco staff in the reviewed implementation. For normal setup, use repository import; coordinate migration of managed site assets with your team.
Confirm the connection
Open Content and verify that the expected pages and sections appear. Open Preview, choose a page, and make a small draft edit. Wait for saving to finish and confirm the preview uses the new value before publishing.
A blank catalog usually calls for checking the site metadata, component registration, and server reachability. A CMS session without a repository cannot save through Git; one without a preview server cannot render Fast Preview.
Local preview sessions support local work and do not expose the publishing controls. Use a repository-backed project to publish or request review.
